A successful and promising return to face-to-face meetings

31/10/2021

The 77th Annual Congress of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology was concluded with great success. We started planning the congress in early 2021 in the uncertain and constantly changing environment of the pandemic. We adapted our plans frequently following the evolving situation of public health measures taken by the State to control the pandemic. Until the very last moment we had to re-design crucial parts of our planning such as the number of delegates allowed with physical presence, the terms of exhibition operation and social functions and the option to hand out congress material.

Despite the adverse conditions the Congress was successfully organized in hybrid format from 6 to 9 October 2021 at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre. The “thank you” messages by the organizers and the smiling participants along with the following facts and figures allow us to view with optimism the gradual return to the wonderful world of face-to-face meetings. At the same time they have proven that a PCO’s flexibility combined with organizational skills, professionalism, commitment and positive thinking by the team guarantee a successful event.

We wish to warmly thank the Congress President, Dr. Theodore P. Kormas and the entire Board of H.A.O.S.T. for trusting Erasmus Conferences & Events as well as all the speakers, chairpersons and delegates for their active participation and the sponsors who kindly supported the congress in these difficult times.
