Our team flew to Rome between 23-25 February 2017 for the organization of the Consensus Conference & 3rd Refresher Course of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN).

The 3-day conference, which was held at the Centro Congressi Palazzo Rospigliosi, managed from the very first day to attract more than 170 distinguished pediatric neurosurgeons from 34 countries from all over the world.

Through a series of interesting presentations, vibrant discussions, stimulating state-of-the-art lectures and round table discussions, the scientific programme of the ESPN 2017 Consensus Conference, focusing on the Arachnoid cysts, was structured with the aim of renowned experts to share their knowledge and best practices in their attempt to answer the most commonly debated questions on this topic.

Following the ESPN 2017Concensus Conference, the ESPN 2017 3rd Refresher Course, dedicated to Hydrocephalus, successfully managed to provide an updated perspective on the different forms of pediatric hydrocephalus and treatment options, focusing especially on practical management issues through case discussions sections and videos presentations, which really attracted the delegates’ interest.

Erasmus’ next appointment with ESPN in Lowestein, Germany, in May for the ESPN Course 2017.
