Setting the Benchmark for the Congress Industry at IAPCO 2017 Annual Meeting

21/2/2017
Erasmus team has just returned from exotic Dubai, where we actively participated in the 48th International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) Annual Meeting & General Assembly, which took place on 16-19 February at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights.

The theme for this year’s prestigious event – ‘Leading the Future, Creating Opportunities’ – brought together 120 IAPCO members and partners from over 30 countries, providing all attendees a unique platform to engage in dialogue related to the evolving nature of the conference industry.

Over the four days course, which successfully combined educational with social activities, the meeting facilitated engaging and thought-provoking sessions, offering an exclusive opportunity to key opinion leaders and IAPCO members to network, exchange ideas and discuss the key theme at hand: creating opportunities and leading the future.

Among others, attendees addressed the challenges faced by the conference and convention sector in an interdependent and rapidly evolving global environment, as well as the latest trends and solutions which will enable the industry to adapt to this new reality. There were also vivid debates on the expected high quality standards required in the events’ business.

The great benefits of collaboration –under certain circumstances - were supported by Georgina Alexopoulou (Erasmus, Business Development) who was part of the debate panel on whether “PCOs should compete or collaborate”.

Erasmus is proud to be on its 9th year of IAPCO membership. In addition to the IAPCO global quality stamp, our active participation in such an engaging  and highly respected Association, provides our company with the opportunity to network with other like-minded partners from around the globe, exchange views and effectively contribute to setting the benchmark when it comes to Professional Congress Organizing.
