field trip to Methana volcano peninsula
Situated approximately 50 km southwest of Athens, on the edge of the active Aegean volcanic arc, the area provides the opportunity to explore culture and history, flora, fauna and of course geology! We will discover the volcanic peninsula Methana with its about 30 eruption centres ("lava domes") and we will explore also prehistoric sites and the entire mythological past of the area.
(with an overnight stay, departing from Athens on the evening of Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, and return to Athens on Thursday, July 6th, 2023)
